Business IT Alignment (clip)

A key success factor for a successful company in a dynamic environment is effective and efficient information technology (IT) supporting business strategies and processes. In recent surveys however it is concluded that in most companies IT is not aligned with business strategy. Our research program aims to explore and understand the differences between the theory and practice of business IT alignment.
Future research will include more data on the alignment capability of organizations and the construction and testing of a new ‘measure’ for alignment: the level of consensus between business and ICT professionals on the organization’s alignment capability.
